The  title of the talk will be &#8220;Feeding the World in the 21st Century &#8211; the  Challenges Facing the UN World Food Programme (WFP)&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">The UN WFP is the world&#8217;s largest humanitarian  agency fighting hunger worldwide. Each year, on average, the WFP feeds more than  90 million people in over 70 countries.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">The talk will be given by Caroline Hurford, head of  the\u00a0World Food Programme\u00a0in the UK.\u00a0 Caroline joined the WFP at  its headquarters in Rome in 2002. Previously a Regional Information Delegate for  the International Red Cross in Russia and East Africa, she first worked for the  WFP in Nairobi.\u00a0 A graduate in Russian, Caroline spent seven years in  Moscow and three years in Kenya prior to joining the WFP in Rome.\u00a0 Since  taking up her London post, Caroline has had four missions to Africa including  the world&#8217;s largest refugee camp in Dadaab during the recent Horn of Africa  crisis.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">We are very lucky to have her come and talk to us  about the challenges faced by the World Food Programme in its efforts to feed  the world in famines, droughts, climate change and natural disasters.
