The war drums continue to beat for an attack on Iran, a country that does
\nnot have nuclear weapons, while Israel, a country that does have a nuclear
\nstockpile, is the noisiest advocate of such an attack.<\/p>\n
Most informed commentators agree that another war in this area would be
\ncatastrophic but this does not mean that it will not happen. Despite the
\nrisks, Israel seems determined to destroy Iran\u2019s government and is
\nconfident that the western powers will back any Israeli attack. BRITAIN
\nSHOULD MAKE IT CLEAR THAT IT WOULD NOT SUPPORT ANY SUCH MOVE.<\/p>\n

The situation in Syria becomes ever more desperate and a natural response
\nis that something must be done. However the experiences of Iraq,
\nAfghanistan and Libya demonstrate that western intervention always makes
\nthe situation worse, as these powers have their own agendas which do not
\nprioritize democracy and concern for the human rights of the Arab people.<\/p>\n
Witness Cameron recently entertaining the Bahraini despot King Hamad to
\ntea and cakes in number 10, while a few days earlier a sixteen year old
\ndemocratic rights demonstrator had been shot and beaten to death by his
\ndeath squads.<\/p>\n
The peoples of the Middle East and North Africa should be allowed to
\ndecide their own governments without foreign intervention.<\/p>\n
