\nIan Chamberlain returned earlier this year after spending 3 months in
\nHebron as an Ecumenical Accompanier working for the EAPPI programme.
\nEcumenical Accompaniers provide a protective presence, monitor and report
\nhuman rights abuses and support Palestinians and Israelis in working
\ntogether for a just and peaceful solution to the conflict.
\nThey work for an end to the occupation, through respecting international law
\nand the implementation of UN resolutions.
\nIan has been a first hand witness to the situation in Palestine. He was
\ndenied entry to Gaza from Egypt (under the former Egyptian regime) when
\nhe tried to join the Gaza Freedom March on the anniversary of Operation
\nCast Lead, Israel\u2019s attack on Gaza in which 1400 people, including many
\ncivilians and children were killed. Since then he has visited the West Bank
\nand is able to report on the events there from personal experience.
\nHe is a writer and human rights activist who has appeared on the BBC’s
\nDaily Politics show, Radio 4’s ‘The Moral Maze’ and Channel 4’s 4thought.
