Wednesday 20th March 2013, 7pm Free Admission\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n Pablo Picasso is popularly known as a pre-eminent 20th Century artist and Picasso never took up arms but used his art to challenge war and its human Professor Morris founded the ‘EASTinternational’ exhibition and last year ‘Dear Lynda…’ celebrating Lynda Morris’s life as curator, writer and art ‘Documenting Cadere, 1972 to 1978’ curated by Professor Morris, recently Organised by Norwich Stop the War Coalition in conjunction with Hazel

\ncreative genius, co-founder of Cubism, showman and playboy; but less is
\nknown about his political involvement. A ground-breaking exhibition at the
\nTate Liverpool, explored his political activism in relation to his art and
\nhis involvement with the French Communist Party following World War Two.
\nFollowing the overwhelming response last year Lynda Morris, co-curator of
\nthe exhibition, has agreed to re-present the talk about this aspect of
\nPicasso’s life. The talk will be followed by a short Q&A session.<\/p>\n
\ncost. His most famous related work is ‘Guernica,’ the 25 foot expression
\nof his outrage at the aerial bombardment of the Basque town by the fascist
\nforces in 1937.<\/p>\n
\nwas invited to lecture in Guernica by the Basque government on the 75th
\nanniversary of the bombing. The previous year she was in Ramallah to
\nlecture on ‘Buste de Femme’, the first Picasso painting to be shown within
\nthe Occupied Palestinian Territories.<\/p>\n
\nhistorian, organised by White Columns in New York, will be showing at ‘The
\nGallery’ Norwich University of the Arts, St George’s Street, from 30 March
\nto 25 May 2013, after showings in London, Dundee and BQ Berlin.<\/p>\n
