{"id":3690,"date":"2014-12-01T19:39:15","date_gmt":"2014-12-01T19:39:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bothness.uber.space\/?p=3690"},"modified":"2015-01-05T22:50:42","modified_gmt":"2015-01-05T22:50:42","slug":"the-ebola-virus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/norwichpeace.org\/?p=3690","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;The Ebola Virus&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Dear Friends,<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">This is to bring you news of our December LunchBox  talk.\u00a0 We do not usually have a LunchBox this near to Christmas but we feel  that Ebola is important enough to do so.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">We\u00a0are very fortunate in having Dr Samir  Dervisevic, Consultant Virologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital  come and talk to us at <strong>1pm<\/strong> on <strong>Friday 19th  December<\/strong> at the Friends Meeting House in Upper Goat Lane,  Norwich.\u00a0 The title of his talk is <strong><em>&#8220;The Ebola  Virus&#8221;.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">We know relatively little about this appalling  disease &#8211; so here are some points to ponder:<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">What is Ebola?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">What does it mean?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Is\u00a0it a challenge for medicine?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Or Nature striking back at overpopulation?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Or bad luck?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Or inequality? <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Or a consequence of colonialism?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Or the heart of darkness?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Or evolution?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">Or divine retribution?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">What are we doing about it?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">If you are interested in any of these questions, do  please come to the talk on Friday 19th December at the Friends Meeting House in  Upper Goat Lane, Norwich. The talk will start at 1pm. The speaker will talk for  30 minutes, followed by questions.
