In Action.&#8217; <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>Quakers are involved in peace and reconciliation work in conflict areas around the world, active in Prison reform, promoting environmental and sustainability concerns, working for justice and equality; in fact working to be living witnesses to our shared beliefs in Truth, Equality, Simplicity and Peace.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Here in Norwich<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">, <strong>throughout the week, Quakers are sharing ways they put their beliefs into action not just for a week or a month but in their whole future lives. <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"><strong><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Lesley Grahame, newly elected City Councillor for Thorpe Hamlet, is o<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">ne <strong>of our members who continually puts her beliefs into action in all aspects of her life and joins another Quaker Councillor<\/strong>, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Rupert Read<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">, <strong>on the City Council representing the Green Party. Lesley is well known for her enthusiastic support of the<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">many peace and community groups in Norwich and work with Quakers locally and nationally.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>As Lesley says &#8220;living what I believe as a part of my everyday life is exactly what makes me part of a Quaker community.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Belief in action<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> <strong>is part of quaker tradition. Way back in 1682 William Penn said &#8220;True godliness don&#8217;t turn men out of the world but enables them to live better in it and excites their endeavours to mend it&#8221;<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>Norwich Quakers today are still mending, recycling and excited in building a better world!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Quaker Week Events:<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Quaker Quest. <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"><strong>Here in Norwich, for those curious about Quakers and wanting to know more, or explore a new spiritual path, Quakers invite you to take part in<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Quaker Quest<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> <strong>held at The Friends Meeting House, Upper Goat Lane.
