Sunday September 4th, Burston School Strike Rally,

Posted on | August 30, 2011 | No Comments

An annual rally is held each September in the Norfolk village of Burston to remember the Strike School. This school represented the ‘longest strike in history’ when pupils from Burston school went on strike to protest at the sacking of their teachers; Tom and Kitty Higdon. The pupils though, were not having their free-thinking teachers sacked, and went on strike, effectively creating a new school.

Among others Norwich Stop the War Coalition, Norwich Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Norfolk Campaign Against Arms Trade

(If you want a pitch of your own come at 9.30am and cost is £10)
