Call Mr. Robeson, an award-winning play about the African American singer, actor and Civil Rights activist, Paul Robeson, is to be performed at Norwich Puppet Theatre ahead of a special one-off performance at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York in February 2012. This performance is being jointly presented by Norwich Stop the War Coalition.

This rollercoaster journey through actor/singer Paul Robeson’s remarkable life highlights how his radical activism caused his downfall. It features some famous songs and speeches, including a dramatic rendition of Ol’ Man River, and a defiant testimony to the McCarthy’s Senate House Un-American Activities Committee.
