Ian  Chamberlain returned earlier this year after spending 3 months in
Hebron as an Ecumenical Accompanier working for the EAPPI programme.
Ecumenical Accompaniers provide a protective presence, monitor and report
human rights abuses and support Palestinians and Israelis in working
together for a just and peaceful solution to the conflict through an end

to the occupation, respect for international law and implementation of UN resolutions.


Ian Chamberlain returned earlier this year after spending 3 months in
Hebron as an Ecumenical Accompanier working for the EAPPI programme.
Ecumenical Accompaniers provide a protective presence, monitor and report
human rights abuses and support Palestinians and Israelis in working
together for a just and peaceful solution to the conflict.
They work for an end to the occupation, through respecting international law
and the implementation of UN resolutions.
Ian has been a first hand witness to the situation in Palestine. He was
denied entry to Gaza from Egypt (under the former Egyptian regime) when
he tried to join the Gaza Freedom March on the anniversary of Operation
Cast Lead, Israel’s attack on Gaza in which 1400 people, including many
civilians and children were killed. Since then he has visited the West Bank
and is able to report on the events there from personal experience.
He is a writer and human rights activist who has appeared on the BBC’s
Daily Politics show, Radio 4’s ‘The Moral Maze’ and Channel 4’s 4thought.
