UNA LunchBox talk

Dear Friends,
Christmas is coming – but before that we have the UNA LunchBox talk on Friday 21st December. It will be held at 1pm in the Friends Meeting House in Upper Goat Lane,  Norwich.  The talk will be entitled “Tools for Life” and will be given by Mr & Mrs Evans-Jones. They will also show a short film.  “Tools for Life” is the slogan for “Work Aid” ( www.workaid.org ). The organisation “Workaid” is committed to tackling poverty in a practical way by helping disadvantaged people overseas and in the UK, to help themselves through practical skills training.  Unwanted tools and equipment are collected from all over the UK and refurbished by a team of dedicated volunteers at the Workaid workshop. The refurbished tools are then sent to vocational training projects where they help vulnerable and disadvantaged people to learn trade skills and start their oen businesses. Each year Workaid helps over 9,000 people to break the cycle of poverty and rebuild their lives. There are currently successful projects running in the UK, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia and Tanzania.
Tea/coffee (and maybe a mince-pie) will be available from 12.15 onwards, the talk starts at 1pm and will be followed by questions and discussion until 1.50pm.
It will provide respite from Christmas shopping and I hope to see you all there.
