At this time when many here are turning in their thoughts to Bethlehem and the land around it and the events associated with the birth of Jesus son of Mary the Messiah peace be upon him

it is saluatry that the community there which traditionally has embraced Christian and Muslim alike out of respect for the the sanctity of the site to people of both these religions is now divided by the apartheid wall, both communities suffering as a result.

Much however is being done to address this sad situation and to resist the illegal occupation which has brought this about in non-violent and constructive ways
