Dear Friends

This is to advise you of the next UNA LunchBox talk in the Friends Meeting House in Upper Goat Lane, Norwich on Friday 19th September 2014.  The talk this time will be entitled “ Cuba: 50 years of revolution; 50 years of blockade” and will be given by Rob Miller, the Director of the UK Cuban Solidarity Campaign.

The talk will start at 1pm followed by questions.

The Cuba Solidarity Campaign is the British campaign against the illegal blockade of Cuba and for the Cuban peoples’ right to self-determination and national sovereignty.  US hostility to Cuba continues today despite twenty specific UN General Assembly resolutions, passed with overwhelming majorities, demanding the total, immediate and unconditional lifting of the US blockade.  This blockade is the most enduring in history and is estimated to have cost the Cuban economy 96 billion dollars in the last 50 years.  The US blockade is a commercial, economic and financial embargo which began in October 1960 – following the successful Cuban revolution of 1959.

Do come along and find out the latest news about Cuba.

best wishes,

Marguerite
