“The Ebola Virus”

Dear Friends,
This is to bring you news of our December LunchBox talk. We do not usually have a LunchBox this near to Christmas but we feel that Ebola is important enough to do so.
We are very fortunate in having Dr Samir Dervisevic, Consultant Virologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital come and talk to us at 1pm on Friday 19th December at the Friends Meeting House in Upper Goat Lane, Norwich. The title of his talk is “The Ebola Virus”.
We know relatively little about this appalling disease – so here are some points to ponder:
- What is Ebola?
- What does it mean?
- Is it a challenge for medicine?
- Or Nature striking back at overpopulation?
- Or bad luck?
- Or inequality?
- Or a consequence of colonialism?
- Or the heart of darkness?
- Or evolution?
- Or divine retribution?
- What are we doing about it?
If you are interested in any of these questions, do please come to the talk on Friday 19th December at the Friends Meeting House in Upper Goat Lane, Norwich. The talk will start at 1pm. The speaker will talk for 30 minutes, followed by questions. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available from 12.30. Hope to see you there.
